Firstly VTU is clearly a leading colligate public state technological university in the Karnataka state operating since from the late 90s and Indians find it pretty easy with this tag to apply for higher studies like the master’s degree and Ph.D. programs as well with this tag, which is unlike with that of newly established deemed universities while for the admissions for the same in the US.
Secondly, none of the universities are grouped as tier 1/2/3 in the US as we have developed a culture in our nation in grouping them in that way. As long as you fulfill all the requirements for the desired programs like the GRE, IELTS score, extra-curricular activities and so on you may not find any difficulty in applying for admissions for various programs from this place to that place.
Finally, the US has its own requirements and depends completely on their will and wish.Remember they are so called as “Americans” they don’t care whether your are from so called again VTU, BU, RGUHS, BITS, IIT, IIMs(Universities in India) and so on many brands we get here which just like an ordinary degree in their nation and nothing else. Remember things of this place have no weightage in that place until and unless you’re a rockstar and superstar in developed, industrialized, nationalized, superpower, developed nations like the “US” or any other nations of equal grade for that matter like the US too
