Here are some tips to score highest marks in VTU exams

There are many ways to get good marks in VTU exams but the best way is to study from standard textbooks(those ‘foreign author’ books) and solve as many questions as possible. Probably <0.5% of VTU students do this. The reason is simple, VTU exam pattern doesn’t test your concepts.

Actually, we can’t even call the exam pattern a pattern! The current sem’s exam paper is simply a copy-paste of the previous sem’s paper with a few random changes here and there and also by changing the sentences used in the questions. Sometimes not even that. Therefore, even if you study in the way I have mentioned you might still end up scoring less than someone who has mugged up the entire syllabus. But, keep studying if you really want to learn.

In what other easier ways can you score well in VTU?

1. Make brief notes for every topic from a particular subject. This works well if the subject contains a lot of diagrams. You can fill two pages with those diagrams and write the summary of the topic(which I don’t think the lecturers will even read – my guess)

2. refer to handwritten and simplified notes if available, we provide handwritten notes to most subjects, check out the academics section of our site, make important points or just highlight important parts of a topic, here’s a free tip, use a highlighter!

3. Refer to important questions, TIE has a review team! this is basically a team of toppers and teachers who basically predict the questions that are more likely to appear, These questions are formed by thoroughly going thru the last 5 years’ question papers, recent mqp etc. You can find these questions on takeiteasyengineers IG page!

Apart from these three points, make sure that you write long answers, underline keywords, etc. Fill 30 odd pages out of those 44 sides! Paper tumbsiii barbekkkuuuu!
